The Gem of the West Museum Society has a dedicated group of volunteers who help to display and preserve the history of Coaldale and area.

If you’d like to join our Board, our Annual General Meeting takes place in March of each year, and will be advertised in the community and on our Event Calendar.

There are year-round opportunities to sit on a Gem committee, and volunteers are also much appreciated for events and projects.

Our volunteers work hard, and have lots of fun doing it!

Please contact us or come on in for a chat about the current volunteer opportunities available at the Gem.

Volunteer for Events

The Gem of the West Museum Society holds several community and fundraising events throughout the year including our Wine and Cheese Auction and Carol Festival.

Event Volunteers assist with everything from decorating to setting up chairs to taking tickets at the door.

Volunteer for Projects

There is always a project underway at the museum!

Staff and Volunteers keep busy constructing new exhibits, maintaining our current exhibits, and working with the artifacts.

New ideas and special skills are always appreciated!

Special Volunteer Opportunities

The Gem of the West Museum Society is currently seeking a volunteer to serve as Membership organizer. Please phone 403-345-1377 or e-mail [email protected] if you or someone you know is interested in this opportunity.
