“Along the Road to Freedom” Art Exhibit Grand Opening
Join the Mennonite Historical Society of Alberta at the Gem of the West Museum on April 28th for the Grand Opening of the travelling art exhibit "Along the Road to Freedom", which will be hosted in our Scotiabank Art Gallery. The Mennonite Historical Society's AGM is at 10:30am, followed by the Grand Opening program and reception at 1:30pm. Donations to the Mennonite Historical Society will be accepted.

The 2018 Summer Season begins May 14th. The museum will be open Monday to Friday from 9am - 4pm, and Saturdays 9am - 3pm until August 31st.

Find out more »Concert and Dessert Auction
Join us on Saturday, June 16th for a Concert and Dessert Auction Fundraiser, featuring musician Cal Toth. Doors open 6:30pm, event begins at 7pm. The auction will include cakes and pies generously donated by local bakeries, businesses, and volunteers. Tickets $20 (price includes one drink token, additional drinks $5). Please purchase tickets in advance at the museum, cash or cheque payment only.

Join us on August 6th to celebrate Heritage Day! The Gem will be holding an Open House from 10am to 2pm featuring heritage themed crafts, a blacksmith shop demonstration which includes the opportunity to bring home a unique souvenir from the museum, ice-cream making, and other fun activities for the whole family! Drop in, admission by donation.
