We have hosted a free, family-friendly, season-opening event at the Museum for the last couple of years, which was a huge success. This year is super important to us as the Gem of the West Museum Society celebrates its 35th anniversary. So come on out and celebrate with us this year on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We hope to see everyone again.

Jackie’s Kitchen will be the Food Truck joining this year. I can’t wait to chow down on some tasty food and treats.

We will fire up our blacksmith shop for demonstrations. There will also be a craft and drawing area for kids. We will also have a wide selection of game thanks to Coulee Concepts.

We will have Boots the Goat visiting in the morning, and then Maple Fusion will be doing a stage show at 10:30 a.m. If you want to take home a memory, then for only $10, get one of the Caricature drawings from Artist Touch.

Whatever you fancy doing, come out and enjoy a day at the Gem of the West Museum with FREE ADMISSION. We want to show off all the hard work we have been doing this past fall and winter with our new Music Room Exhibit.

We will have the Kinsmen Club of Coaldale, the FCSS (youth do crew) setting up booths and the Coaldale Scouts helping us out.

]]> 2227 Music Concert https://www.gemofthewest.ca/event/music-concert/ Sat, 07 Jun 2025 07:30:00 +0000 https://www.gemofthewest.ca/?post_type=tribe_events&p=2787 The Gem of the West Museum is excited to announce an electrifying concert featuring the talented John Wart Hannam on June 7th. Joining him is fiddler extraordinaire Scott Duncan. Music lovers won’t want to miss this amazing event!

Doors will open at 7:00 PM, allowing guests to get settled in before the show. Attendees can enjoy a half-hour cash bar that will be available prior to the concert starting at 7:30 PM. After the concert begins, the bar will close temporarily but will open again for another half hour during intermission, giving everyone a chance to refresh.

Tickets for this fantastic evening of music are priced at $35 if purchased in advance, or $40 at the door. Be sure to grab your tickets early, as this event promises to be a memorable experience for all!
